Food Lion is a grocery store with locations operating in Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and North and South Carolina. They also operate a Customer Service Center in Salisbury, North Carolina where all of their corporate level positions are located.

This is a great place to work for those who are seeking part time positions or who have been out of the workplace for awhile and are looking for entry level positions. Many teenagers and young adults also find the supermarket atmosphere suitable for a beginning work experience, since there are many positions which do not require a college education or specialized knowledge.

There are three different categories of jobs at Food Lion: retail, distribution/trucking, and corporate.

Retail positions in a grocery store can include sales associates, cashiers, customer service personnel, stockers, baggers/cart handlers, and management professionals. Hourly associates are the most common starting positions for new employees since this position has a lot of turnover in the grocery store market so most locations will have open positions most of the time.

Distribution and truck driving positions do not operate out of actual grocery store locations, but through distribution center locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. Truck driving positions will require suitable driving credentials and may be required to travel to all Food Lion locations as well as other locations.

Not all open distribution jobs will be listed on the Food Lion website at all times. If you don’t find the position you are looking for on the site, take the time to send in an application anyway to see if an open position is not there and just unlisted.

Corporate as well as customer service positions are all located in the North Carolina Customer Service Center. Positions in this location are in a corporate office setting rather than an actual grocery store and cover a wide range of positions. Corporate level positions will always require advanced education and/or previous experience.
